Interview posted at MEGADETH MYSPACE and more!
Annie from Megadeth.com briefly interviewed Evan Skopp, Head of Marketing for Seymour Duncan who gave us in ‘plain English’ all you MUST know about the new LIVEWIRE DAVE MUSTAINE MODEL pick-ups… MORE
Y aquí la mini-entrevista:
LW-Must livewire? Dave Mustaine Model
Dave joined forces with Seymour Duncan for the release of Seymour Duncan?s first active guitar pickup in over 15 years: The LiveWire Dave Mustaine Model. It comes in a neck and bridge set.
Annie from Megadeth.com briefly interviewed Evan Skopp -Head of Marketing for Seymour Duncan who gave us in ‘plain English’ all you MUST know about the new Dave Mustaine pick-ups
What makes these new pick-ups stand out?
They’re very unique in that they have the advantages of an active pickup, meaning higher gain and more output, without sacrificing the organic “feel” and tone of a great passive pickup. It’s a best of both world’s situation. Also, they’re our first 9-volt active guitar pickup. The Mustaine model can be operated with 18 volts for more headroom, but it’s not required, like with our other active guitar pickups.
What can musicians expect to get from using them?
They can expect to get the basic tonality and feel of the Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz Model pickups (our most popular set and the pickups that previously outfitted Dave’s guitars) — but with the advantages of an active pickup.
When are these pick-ups being released?
The pickup has already been releases as an OEM product, meaning the first ESP Mustaine Guitars with these pickups should be showing up shortly. The over-the-counter version will be on music store shelves next month (April).

While on tour with The Rasmus and Negative, I caught up with a freshly woken up and very tired (And admittedly verbally challenged) Ville Valo in Milan (Spain), who was more than happy to talk about the band?s recently completed North American tour, their upcoming tour of Australia, speculation surrounding reports of a new album due sometime before the end of 2006 and the success of ?Dark Light? outside of their core European fan base.
Voy a ponerme a ello.

MACHINE HEAD: ‘Making Of’ Video Of Band’s Cover Of METALLICA’s ‘Battery’ Posted Online
A five-minute video clip of MACHINE HEAD rehearsing and talking about their cover version of METALLICA‘s “Battery” that was recently recorded for the upcoming Kerrang! magazine tribute to the METALLICA album “Master of Puppets”, has been posted online at the band’s official web site. The CD, titled “Remastered”, will be packaged with a special issue of Kerrang! commemorating the 20th anniversary of “Master of Puppets”. Starting today, you can go behind-the-scenes for the making of MACHINE HEAD‘s cover of “Battery” with part one of a two-part series, now available on the “Media” page. Part two of the feature will be available on April 5, the same day that the commemorative issue of Kerrang! hits newsstands. Other bands contributing to the CD include TRIVIUM (“Master Of Puppets”), MENDEED (“The Thing That Should Not Be”), BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE (“Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”), CHIMAIRA (“Disposable Heroes”), FIGHTSTAR (“Leper Messiah”), MASTODON (“Orion”) and FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND (“Damage, Inc.”). Check out the “Remastered” cover artwork at this location.
MACHINE HEAD had previously recorded a cover of METALLICA‘s “Battery” in 2003 as part of a poll they conducted where they asked the members of the group’s official forum to list three songs that they would like to hear MACHINE HEAD cover, after which the band picked the 10 most interesting requests they felt they could do justice to. All of the forum members then voted on the final three, with the most-requested entries being given the “MACHINE HEAD treatment.” In addition to “Battery”, MACHINE HEAD covered FAITH NO MORE‘s “Jizzlobber” and EXODUS‘ “Toxic Waltz”. None of the recordings were officially released.
